" MAKING FRAMES. Ron Grice. What a wonderful book. From the first view as it slowly slid out of the envelope and the pages revealed themselves I was totally captivated. There is no doubt that to write a ‘How – to’ book one has to know ones business down to the last detail, and to be so full of enthusiasm, that your reader is likewise infected. Certainly Linnette Bell belongs to this rare breed of teacher and we are all the richer for her knowledge and dedication. As you leaf through the pages you will come across certain pieces of artwork – some of it very fine pieces of artwork, and you will see the reason for making this book one word will suffice: - enhancement. One photograph in particular caught my eye; look at the presentation of the coin on page 92. It is this that made me realise that I had been lured away from the framing; the tools; the very ideas, and left me with the thought: what can I do to better present my work? Well. That was the intention in the first place. Wasn’t it ? "
