The Sunbeam Alpine and Tiger were revolutionary cars from a British manufacturer with no history or reputation for sports car design.
The author begins with the rise of the Rootes Group to the launch of the Alpine in July 1959. Four further Alpine models continued the Group's success to the Mk V of 1965. The story of the 14 month design and production of the Ford V8 engined Tiger is covered. Sadly the sale of the Rootes Group to Chrysler in 1967 ended the production of these very attractive Alpine and Tiger sports cars.
