Since the dawn of aviation the mountains and hills of the UK and Ireland have caused havoc to low flying aircraft.

Poor navigational aids and bad weather, coupled with young inexperienced aviators, often took their toll, especially during World War II.

In each of these books the author describes the events surrounding over one hundred high ground crashes.

Much of the information has been gleaned from accounts of those involved, e.g. survivors, rescuers or eye-witnesses.
