Geoff Carverhillis an automotive journalist and historian, the author of many magazine articles on both well-known and obscure classic cars. As a specialist in American automotive history, he is a regular contributor to Classic American magazine. He is also a freelance photographer and music reviewer. This is his third book, following The Commer Story and The Rootes Story – The Making of a Global Automotive Empire’ both published by Crowood.
This one is gem for fans of old British Marques and covers a halcyon period during the sixties
A genuinely excellent work that should interest any historic British vehicle enthusiast, not just Rootes fans.
First and foremost, the authenticity of this book is greatly expanded by the fact the foreword was written by none other than Nick Rootes, the 3rd Lord Rootes himself. His special thanks to the author, Geoff Carverhill, reveals that this is a book worth citing and referring to when looking into parts of the Rootes Group brand.
The book is lavishly illustrated with over 400 black & white and colour archive quality photographs. As well as images from the Rootes Archive Centre Trust and Coventry Archives, the book features photographs from private collections, including some from the Rootes family archives, which have never before been seen in the public domain.
